I have heard the new message from the “new thinkers” is to be happy for no reason. As with so many of these cliches, there is little in the way of teaching one to reach this state of mind. It is similar to the commandment to “Love thy Neighbhor as you Love Yourself”. How do we “get there”? The self-image and the image we carry around concerning others is a “deal killer” when it comes to finding the peace which surpasses understanding.
The work I have done and my existing practise has taken years to mature. Only now are the fruits of my efforts becoming apparent. Yet, this transformation can be instantaeous; you also can win the lottery the first ime you play. (This has obvious probability constraints.) So you do the work and keep buying lotto tickets. There will come a day or a teacher.
